'Around what?'
"Whatever this is," for some reason his hand didn't fall from her neck. As it was turning out this wasn't as bad as he'd made it out to be. Marguerite seemed quick on her feet, and he could see she thought for herself. She might follow the rules but there was a spark of something else behind her eyes. A longing he didn't quite understand, but was drawn to all the same.
His thumb reached out from behind her neck and traced her chin. The last time he had really laid eyes on her, she had been nothing but a child. Now, she was anything but standing before him. Maybe he protested to much about things he doesn't understand. A curious expression crossed his face as he watched her.
'This isn't going to stop?'
She kept asking in one form or another, but he just didn't know what to tell her. He had put this off time and time again. Avoided asking any questions about the brand or even caring. Thinking he could push it off a few more years. Then the Fates saw it fair to kick in the teeth with the women before. For all he knew this could be his fault. By stalling he could have started a chain reaction.
Thanking years of working with the Elders, he kept this emotions from his face. While the idea of being branded was unappealing to him, it wasn't the women under his hand. He needed to talk with someone and get answers. For his sake as well as her's. It was his job to protect the Viri.
"I don't know, but I'll figure it. I swear."

"Whatever this is,"That wasn't a good enough answer. That didn't tell her anything. It just showed that he knew nothing, and neither did she, and neither of them together would get anything explained. The elders would know what was going on, but she had no right to ask them this sort of thing or anything at all really. She was just a baby after all. This was up to him. Marguerite let out a sign of frustration when he said that.
She noticed that his hand was still on her neck when he trailed his thumb to her chin. She felt a shiver run down her spine and to her groin. There wasn't a time she really remembered seeing him, but she was seeing him now. His eyes were beautiful and rich. He had this air of importance about him, not stuck up, but impressive. She felt like she was less in his presence. The look he gave her now seemed slightly confused, but it was just a glint in his eye that she had to go on. He obviously knew how to hide what he was thinking.
"I don't know, but I'll figure it. I swear." "Ok." She replied simply, nodding her head.
The seal had been there as long as she could remember, but it wasn't something that she had really explored before. Of course, she knew it had to have meant something, but god knows what that was. She really didn't want to know. In this case, she let ignorance be bliss. If she found out the real reason for it, she might ever be the same. Well, she wouldn't. That's a fact, but she wanted to hold it off as long as possible.
"Tell me what you're thinking." She asked him, too curious to let it go.
Marguerite's hand found his, the one that wasn't on her face. She felt his skin, slowly caressing the back of his hand with her fingers and then his palm. Finally, she laced their fingers together, completely unsure of why she felt the need to. It scared her a little, but she was eased by his presence, by touching him. It made her less nervous, but she was still confused. There was no getting rid of that.

'Tell me what you're thinking.'
He opened his mouth and closed it again. There was a lot of things going through his head. Most of which he knew better to keep in his head. Finally his head left her back of neck. Only to slip a piece of loose hair behind her ears. He stopped, his fingers on the edge of her chin, as he realized what he'd just done. For a moment he wasn't sure what drove him to do that. In fact he really wasn't sure why he was still here.
Some higher instinct was keeping from going back to his business. Business he wasn't quite sure what is was. Even though he knew there was things he needed to be doing. At this moment thought it didn't seem like much else matter. It was odd how it didn't bother him as much he thought it would. In fact it didn't bother him at all.
'Tell me what you're thinking.'
Her words echoed in his head again knowing he owed her an answer. Funny how the only thoughts were of her now. Not of what the elders wanted of him, but of the women in front of him. A small smile stretched across his face as his thumb around across her cheek. It was near ironic how things had changed on him all of a sudden. He still wasn't happy about the branding, but it could be a lot worse.
"You," the smell stretched a little his fangs poking out from under his lips. He had seen some of them women that had been branded to the men he worked with. It could have been much, much worse. There was something this women that intrigued him. Something that was different from all the other women in the Viri.
With his grip on her face he tilted her a bit. "Why do you hide them from me?" It wasn't like he'd never seen them before. He had been a vampire for quite some time. Worked with them everyday. Fangs were just that in his opinion.

There was something completely enchanting about this. It was putting her under a spell, one she hadn't been prepared for. It was as if someone had just thrown a bag over her head and dragged her off to some deep dark cave, where they began to hypnotize her. That's what it was. He was hypnotizing. Why hadn't she noticed this before? It was because she had never really looked at him, not like this. Well, granted they only had about ten minutes of time together ever in their lives. And the way he looked back at her made her melt. It seemed totally juvenile, but that's exactly how it felt, like she was going to fall to the ground at any moment.
He didn't say anything to her for a while, just reached out to her. She wasn't sure how to feel about his silence or what it meant. There was no way to tell with him it seemed. His eyes were vacant. Perhaps not vacant so much as guarded. Her eyes searched his to no end and still felt like they were just swimming in a maze, being misled left and right. Her fangs shot out once again when his thumb touched her cheek. She quickly closed her mouth.
"You." He finally answered her, and it stunned her for a moment. He was thinking of her? But why, when there were so many more interesting or important things to be thinking of. She was just some bashful little girl running around doing what she wasn't supposed to. How was that any bit entertaining to a man like him, a man as old as him. She didn't understand it, or maybe she did and just didn't want to.
But he didn't seem to like the shyness. She could see his fangs were out too. Her mouth came open when he tilted her head a little, and her own were exposed. "Why do you hide them from me?" He asked her, and she didn't quite know what to tell him. Maybe the truth would do best.
"Because...this is the first time I've not had control of them. I don't know why they're out..." She told him and squeezed his hand lightly, as if to make sure it was still there.

'Because...this is the first time I've not had control of them. I don't know why they're out...'
His laugh seemed to echo off the walls at her answer. It wasn't that she was laughing at her. The answer was just too adorable to pass up. The hand on her face dropped to hook into the belt loop of his pants. Amadeus had a few ideas as to why they could be sticking out. Even some of the oldest vampires could loose control of their fangs when their emotions ran rampant enough.
A pale them traced one of the bones on the outside of her hand as he laugh started to die down. His hand slid from his belt loop to scratch at one of his eyebrows. There had been a few times in blood lust, but other than normally he had control over them. Those were stories for another time thought. He made sure to push the thoughts far from his mind. Best not to dwell on these things.
"Happens to the best of us," well maybe not the elders. Though, he made it a habit to not dwell on that. What the elders got up to was none of his business. It was subject best not brought up. His job was take care of his people and make them safe. Not assume what the elder got up to behind his close doors.
Though his laughing had stopped the smile hadn't left. Again his thought shifted. Wondering just what they taught some of the younger ones if they all bent out of shape about showing off there fangs. It didn't make any sense at all. Then again the only young ones he ever really ever dealt with where the other Dealers. So it maybe it was different for kids who came in like Marguerite had.
"You'll learn with time. We all do."

When he laughed, she had to smile herself. He looked good when he laughed, so much more attractive than before. Not that he hadn't been then too. But now that he seemed almost happy, or at least amused, his face brightened and all the tension seemed to be gone. She liked it and hoped it stayed. She couldn't help what was going on. They didn't really give her much instruction on her fangs other than to kill and feed. They didn't exactly explain that they came out at random times when you got aroused with whatever feeling you had. They probably figured that the little vampire would learn that on their own. They acted as though the only important things in life were death and procreation. There were no instructions on how to grow up. She was lost.
When his laugh died down (I'm going to assume his fangs are still out.), she looked at him curiously. What she was about to do was probably going to be someone intrusive and rather rude. But that didn't occur to her at the time. In fact, it could damn well get her in trouble. Or so she would come to the think later. All she could think about now was the act. Marguerite let her hand rise slowly and cautiously to his face. Her fingers touched his cheek lightly and then her palm rested on it. Her thumb rested over his lips and parted them gently, exposing his teeth. She let her thumb glide over his fang,, careful not to cut herself. Then she let her hand drift down to his other. Now she had both of his hands in hers.
"Happens to the best of us. You'll learn with time. We all do." She hoped he was right. She needed him to be right. She didn't want to be an outcast her whole life, never knowing what to do or how to act. It scared her to think she'd be alone like that, like she was now.
"Perhaps. I'm sorry. I probably seem rather pathetic, uneducated or maybe just ignorant." She stated, looking down at the ground. Right now she felt extremely inferior to him. She didn't even know her fangs were supposed to do that. How stupid was she? It was horrible.
Something overtook her though in that moment. Because she felt so strange yet to close to him at the same time, she started to panic. There were too many emotions at once. The peace was gone. Her eyes went a little a wide with wonder and fear all at the same time. She let go of one of his hands and then the other, stepping away quickly. As she walked away she explained her actions, "I....I have training. I f-forgot." She stammered, knowing she sounded stupid and was a horrible liar.
