THE VIRI
"You cannot escape what you are meant to be."
The Viri are one of the oldest covens in all of Romania. It has lasted for more than 800 hundred years. They originally began in the area that would eventually be known as Germany and traveled around in small groups to different towns. They started with only five members. Those numbers grew when they fled to Austria 200 years after they were founded. It wasn't until 200 years ago that the coven moved to the country of Romania. They had gotten their population up to almost one hundred before a war erupted in Austria. They fled with only thirty members left. Of those, only ten remain in the coven today. Since then, they now have 75 members or more.
There are only certain types of vampires and people that are let into the Viri. They don't run a charity organization and do not accept strays. You're only with them if they want you. They will dispose of you when you cease to be useful, so it would be good have some sort of purpose among them. They won't accept orphan vampires that have been bitten, ever. They don't feel it's their job to harbor the mistakes of others. The only time they allow bitten vampires is when a member of the coven has permission to become a maker. Otherwise, they'll kill them. Orphan born vampires are accepted depending on how worthy they are to the cause. They will take them in if they fill they have abilities that will be beneficial to the coven. They especially like born female vampires. They are very useful and in high demand, actually.
The general type of person that belongs to this group is someone who feels that they are superior to humans and werewolves, or at least more evolved. They take pride in what they are and are very loyal to the coven. Many of them are very old and very skilled. They are set in their ways and tend to brainwash their youth to be the same. Some may be a little arrogant, but that's mostly likely just how they were taught.
The Viri are not kind of merciful. They will not make exceptions unless in extraordinary cases, and are very single minded. They are however divided on the issue of whether or not to overcome humans. Because they are so set in their ways, they are comfortable doing things the traditional way, enjoying the hunt. However, some of the more recent vampires are considering the possibility of taking over the humans and harvesting them like animals. It is a matter that is not likely to be decided soon, but there are tensions in the coven because of it. None of these have to do with the well-being of humans however.
If you are a Viri, you are not likely to care about a human's feelings. No one, and I mean no one in this coven would be caught dead with a human. That's like making out with your cat. Gross. While some may want to do it, it's just not socially acceptable or permissible. If you're caught with a human, they kill that human and you may just get killed too.
Their opinion of the Ignus? They really don't acknowledge much that they exist. They have a relationship with them on a purely political level and will not go out on a limb for them. They will not destroy the Ignus because that would severely deplete their population in the area. As long as the Ignus stay out of their way, there is no conflict.
