"There's something changing. Something is coming. We cannot stop it, and we cannot avoid it. It will ruin our race, and destroy the very fabric of our being. We will no longer hide, but be exposed to the light. We cannot burn, but we can perish in the fire if we let it get too close. The world is aflame, and there is no way to put it out."
The vampire population is at risk. The overpopulation of this planet is pushing them out of hiding and exposed to the outside world. There is no way to stop it, unless...unless they decide to finally overcome their prey, to domesticate it as we do cattle. That is where the divide begins. After nearly ten thousand years of existence alongside hominids, homo virus or vampires as they are commonly termed have had enough of coexisting peacefully. They are tired of being driven into the shadows. Their compassion for humans has diminished and is hanging on by a thread.
The Viri, one vampire coven, is an ancient clan that has grown tired of the opposition of the growing number young vampires. The Ignus, a much newer coven defies them strongly in the matter of humans. The Ignus wants to harvest them and domesticate them, stick them onto machines and suck the life out of them for all their worth. The Viri will not allow this happen for they have lived with humans for thousands of year. The Ignus, only a hundred. They believe the only way to ensure their existence is to keep the knowledge of it from humans. They do not want to be equals or hunted. They simply want to go on as they have. The eager young vampires however are intolerant and impatient. They have the ability to overturn the Viri, and crush it's council into a pieces.
One thing threatens them both, homo adulphos - werewolves. The very recent variation of the homo genus is a savage and rogue group. They run in packs, and are unorganized. The rules of each pack varies, and can sometimes leave it open to raiding human territories. A few have been caught and reported in the area. The Viri and Ignus are shaken. The reckless behavior could expose them all for some werewolves serve them in slavery. Their lives hang in the balance and the werewolves are tearing that apart. They have to be stopped, but no one wants to proceed for they are unaware how many there are or how strong they are.
What can you do when the world is falling apart? Do you step into the light or fade into the darkness?
